8 Tips to Write an Effective Essay
The new school term is going to start again in a few days time. We’ve been asked by many students to continue writing and updating our blog amidst the Christmas holiday!
We have decided to release the 8 great tips to write an effective essay, regardless of what language or subject and we hope you will learn something from it!
1. Read through every question thoroughly.
2. Decide which questions you wish to answer first and plan your time wisely.
3. Underline or highlight the important key word(s) which instruct you on what to do in the question.
4. Pick an organizational pattern that suits each keyword and plan your answers on rough paper or in any blank spaces on your answer sheet.
5. Do not waste time recopying as a result of writing slowly and illegibly.
6. Begin each answer with one or two sentence thesis which summarizes your answer. If possible, phrase the statement so that it rephrases the question’s essential terms into a statement (which therefore directly answers the essay question).
7. Be sure to use specific and relevant references from materials you have studied to support your thesis.
8. Double check your answers and find for any careless mistakes such as errors in spelling etc.
